All riding surfaces are installed to your requirements i.e. dimensions, landscaping, fencing. We offer a wide choice of surface materials and provide full advice on the most suitable surface according to your preference and future use of arena.

Below is a list of the main types of surface material available, there are many more on the market.

We work in conjunction with a number of companies in order to give competitive prices and service to our customers

  • Silica Sand
  • Silica Sand and Bark Equestrian Surface
  • Silica Sand with Plastic Granules or Fibre Rubber etc
  • Fibre Sand – equestrian sand with polypropylene fibres which stabilises the sand providing a free draining, relatively firm and sure-footed surface.

We use high quality technology, for example, precision laser equipment. Our team of dedicated riding arena construction specialists use modern machinery and equipment to ensure excellence to the highest degree.

G.P. Cork Ltd have successfully completed many equestrian arenas to a very high standard. Enclosed is a selection of a few of our customers for whom we have installed riding arenas. If you should wish to view our completed arenas, you may like to visit at least one of these to appreciate first hand the quality of workmanship and the materials used.

We have carried out Equestrian projects for many private clients in the area, one of our largest projects to date was at Kingswood Equestrian Centre (Staffordshire), the leading Equestrian Centre in the Midlands . We were involved in extending the existing indoor arena and constructed the new bar, restaurant and toilet facilities, an outdoor 20m x 60m arena, tarmac and kerbing works etc.

We would be more than happy to visit your site and discuss your requirements and any queries you may have at no cost to yourself.

The approximate timescale for the construction of a 40m by 20m arena is 5-7 working days subject to weather and the extent of cut and fill.

  • Install high quality terram.
  • Lay and consolidate 28mm single size hard stone to a depth of 70-75mm
  • Lay and consolidate hard stone capping material to a depth of 30-35mm.

Arena Surface Material

  • Install to a depth of 125mm with Fibre Sand. (Other surfaces, or if the surface is for commercial use may require 150mm)

notes

Please note that the cost of constructing an arena is variable subject to the below factors. Please contact us to arrange a meeting at your proposed arena location so we can conduct a survey and produce a site specific estimate.

A large amount of cut and fill is required to achieve correct levels/the outfall is a considerable distance from the arena/a soak away has to be installed as no outfall is available/poor access to site/ materials i.e. stone and sand have to be stockpiled away from site and then brought to area of construction/excavated materials that are lost on site need to be loaded and carted at a distance from the construction area/excavated material have to be taken off site/landscaping of the excavated material is required/distance from proposed arena site and our base at Codsall Wood for transportation of machines and employees.

Please note that the cost of materials i.e. stone/sand, will vary according to site location and are subject to supplier increases from time to time.
